January 13

.

About 9:00 am.

About 20 after 5:00 pm.

The less I like a pic, the more likely I am to mess with it.  I quite like the one above, so I made the darks a bit darker (which also enhances the saturation), and cropped, and that was it.

This next one.........  Disappointingly blurry.  Sigh.  I liked the clouds in the distance (at bottom), so I decided to get out my bag of tricks..........

Colored-pencil filter!  This is, I believe, the very first time I've ever liked what happened when I tried the colored-pencil filter!

Here I made just the moon more yellow, to make it stand out more.  I like that round pale yellow shape, amongst all of the angular monochromatic lines of the trees.

Here's another filter I hardly ever like -- cut-out.  I like the way the moon stands out, and I like what happened with the color!  This is one of my favorites of these.......

Here's one I often like -- fresco.  I love the moon in this one..........  And the color, too.

Another one I hardly ever like -- graphic pen.  I like this one, too.

Palette knife.  When something is blurry, make it blurrier, so the blur looks intentional....

Good old poster edges.  I love the way there are no speckles on the moon.  Not as crazy about the pink parts of this one.......

Another one I've never liked before -- stamp.  I don't like what happened with the moon, but the tree branches!

Another fave -- this is watercolor.  I like this one.  I love the moon, love what it did with the color, and like the extreme darkness of the trees..............

I don't always like the filters but I'm very impressed with how they work on these photos -- I think the stark contrast gives you something very interesting to begin with. Nice work.

Thanks!

I don't always like them, either.

They can be fun to play with, though, especially when I'm not that fond of the straight-out-of-camera image. :-)

I agree with you that the stark contrast makes this image a good one for experimentation.
