January 21 -- ORANGE

.

Remember that orange bouquet I saw at the grocery on the 18th?  When I caught sight of its hen-and-chicks element, I was hooked.  I love when people put interesting unusual things in bouquets!

I thought "How can I encourage them to make more totally excellent bouquets like this one?"

Luckily, my next thought was "Well BUY it, DUH!!!"

And so I did.  Not only did I encourage them to make more like this one, but I get to continue to enjoy it.  Hooray.

Quite pleased with myself for slipping out of picture-taking mode into shopper mode (NOT a given -- when I am taking pics, I am not shopping.....), so I could bring this home with me!

Mmmmmmmmmmm.

Just love all the elements of this.  The overall first impression is ORANGE, but so many components, from red gerberas to yellow goldenrod, with spikes of different greens (including the centers of those golden mums), and then that wonderful green/purple piece of hen-and-chicks.................  With those fabulous coral-to-gold roses, and matching freesia..................

Lingering...............

Two tighter crops of the first image.

I wish I could convey how much I love this to the person who put this together!!!

Hey, my friend Susan McCleary does some unique and beautiful things with flowers. She does weddings and also parties, etc. She likes incorporating interesting non-traditional flowers into arrangements. Her business is Passion Flower. If you click on the pics, you'll see examples.
