January 25

.

On the 24th, the weather was pretty cooperative for my drive to The Henry Ford.  It was cold, and on the way home it was pretty windy, but it didn't snow.

On the 25th, it was snowing again.

Around 10:10.

10:50 -- snowing even harder.......

Meanwhile, inside, on the cowshe........

We went out to run the Saturday errands.

We walked out of the library at about 2:45.  The snow was blowing sideways, and it was cold.  (I took pics of that grass and those bushes with orange berries on the 18th....)

The wind let up a little bit, and we made a run for the car.

I noticed after I sat down in the car that the fronts of my pant legs were entirely covered with snow.  I've never seen that before.  Unfortunately I brushed the snow off  before I thought to record it..................

Luckily the grocery store is always warm and bright.  And colorful.  I didn't see any bouquets I needed to bring home.  This one was my favorite from the 25th.  Love that spiky/curly purple thing.

The 25th was one of those days when the sun comes out for a couple of minutes and then is gone again.  I began my walk at about 4:00.  The sun was out, and the wind had died down.  It was very pleasant, in the sunshine.  Then, when I was about a third of the way through my mile loop, it clouded up and the wind came back up, and the rest of my walk was not pleasant at all.

So we'll enjoy this part, while we can.  I'll note that I get more of a work out when people don't shovel their walks....  It doesn't make as much difference when it's as cold as it was on the 25th as it makes when the snow is warmer, though.

I have to tell you that I am now looking at the grocery store flowers in a new light because of you :-). We are sopping wet so far today, but it's supposed to turn to snow later. We'll probably just get mud. Sigh.

I'm glad you're taking a second look at the grocery-store flowers. A good source of COLOR for those of us who see only winter when we look out our windows....

I was quite surprised to notice (with that ORANGE bouquet) that there are clearly different flowers from different sources. (I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised -- other sorts of products come from a variety of suppliers, but I was.)

Some of the bouquets are totally mundane, some have interesting combinations but may be rather beaten up (which I don't see until I get them on "the big screen,", but still), and still others are excellent in condition and in concept..... I'm going to be making a point of seeking out the cool bouquets at the opposite end of the row from where I begin looking at flowers (which is where I found the orange one, and the one in this post, too)!!!

We were shoveling in the rain yesterday.

May I just say ... ick.

It's dry today but gray (and sloppy, I think). I'd rather have it be cold than sloppy! And I know just what you mean about mud. I have washed many corgi bellies during mud season!

Time for flowers, I think. I think I am needing ANY bouquet! We may road trip to Trader Joe's en route to number one kid's doc appointment in A2 next week. He needs support so I said "I'll go" -- as long as we can stop at TJs, wher the flowers are better than anyone's!

Sounds like a plan!

DEFINITELY time for flowers!

I hardly ever get all that way over to the east side of town. The extra-cute bouquets I've been enjoying (like this one with the purple curly/spiky thing, and the orange one I brought home a few weeks ago) are at the Ann Arbor/Saline road Busch's.
