Sunny, for which we are always grateful, in January, but cold, and very windy.

This looks like an aerial view of some forsaken place, until you notice the little stem thingie that once held maple seeds, just about in the middle.  (as always, click on any image to embiggen)

At times, the wind was whipping loose snow across this surface.  I took some video, hoping to capture that, but of course it didn't happen while I was recording, so the video might as well be a repetition of the still shot (except for my movement-though-holding-as-still-as-possible).
