Farmers' market, on a bright sunny day.
I bet these pants would keep a body warm! (Notice his companion's bright shoelaces -- a love of color may run in their family........)
Love the pink roots. Watermelon radish.
I love "kale umbrellas." At this time of year, instead of picking the leaves, they cut the whole plant.....
Pears and apples in the bright slanting sunshine.
Sweet alyssum and dusty miller.
More sweet alyssum.
Totally love these........ They are on my Christmas list every year. Mmmmm. Sweet, and just a little hot.
Pain au chocolat. With really really good chocolate.
Spanish drinking chocolate. This is like eating warm chocolate pudding. Mmmmm.
Cinnamon roll.
Mandelbrot. Crisp, not too sweet, with almonds and just a touch of citrus. Mmmmmm.
I was admiring this nice chartreuse plant against the red brick.
Then I noticed this. I had read that hops are decorative. They certainly are. I believe I've also read they are fragrant... If they have them here next year, I'll have to remember to keep checking for flowers.....
Downtown Bradford pear, against a beautiful blue sky.
Maple.
Football traffic. When 109,000-plus people want to be in the stadium all at once, a lot of traffic results. Ann Arbor is only about 140,000 people. Football games cause a big influx of vehicles. Townies keep track of when the game is, and very often plan their errands for during the game, rather than before or after.
This is Main Street (looking north). On football days, we don't drive across Main Street unless we have to, and if we have to, we make sure we have a traffic light. We don't drive to the farmers' market, anyway, because it's too hard to park. We drive to my old street (which is on our side of Main Street), and park the car. Then we walk a few blocks to the market.
On football days, crossing Main on foot is easier than in a car, because you
can still cross, even when there is gridlock (as there often is -- the
drivers very often do not think ahead and refrain from entering the
intersection when there is no place for them to go............).
Looking west.
Looking south. The light is green, but there's nowhere for south-bound traffic to go.....
We have safely negotiated the obstacles between the market and home. Our back step.
I don't know what kind of leaves these are. I like the color, and the spiky leaf edges.
