Still enjoying having Harriet along on my strolls..... (Dorothy L. Sayers' Gaudy Night)
The old dog, wondering why we're not moving.
The right side of his face (center of pic) looks like it should. The right side is swollen (I presume this is a manifestation of the issue that failed the biopsy in April). His congestion is worse, his mobility is worse. He's 16. That's pretty old, even without known biopsy failures.
"This way to the dinner dish!"
Leaves from our tulip tree. Such a nice toasty brown......
This bright little thing is a very small shrub.
Hmm. I don't think I've ever seen this before -- leaves hanging by a thread. It was windy. These were blowing back and forth, hanging straight down. None of them fell while I wathced....
You can see two leaves, attached as for proper operation, and one dangling, refusing to let go.
Japanese maple. Love the red leaves under the maple, and the golden carpet under the gingko behind the maple.
A farther-away look. Note all the fruit on the gingko tree at right!
A closer look at the little maple, with its red carpet and the golden carpet behind it.
Closeup of gingko fruits.
Gingko carpet, with a sprinkling of burning bush leaves.
Gingko leaves and fruit.
Unlike most trees around here, gingko trees drop almost all of their leaves all at once.
Golden gingko carpet on the sidewalk, lawn extension, and street.
