Wow. Is this a gorgeous color, or what? I did not taste these (you can taste anything, at Zingerman's), but I bet they are delicious.
More gorgeousness. Taking pics of things under incandescent light in display cases is not as easy as one might wish. The incandescent light makes whites look yellow (and pinks look peachy, at best), and then there are all those reflections to try and dodge.....
Love the meringue on the lemon tarts, and the cute little cupcakes......
Are these fancy, or what? I am always amazed at the depth and breadth of the offerings from Zingerman's Bakehouse. So many different (and excellent) breads, so many different (and excellent) sweets....
Our selections. From upper right, clockwise -- Bostok, Toni's Come Undone, pecan pie. Mmmmmmm.......
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....................
And just because it was COLD out -- Spanish "drinking" chocolate. We do not think this should be called "drinking" -- as you can see, it requires a spoon. "Spanish Hot Chocolate Pudding?" It's gooooooooooood. (Pot of Iron Goddess tea -- another part of our breakfast -- not depicted.)
I said it was COLD. Did I mention it was snowing, and WINDY? It was. A view through the front window of Next Door, across Detroit Street. (Don't you love that Detroit Street is still paved with bricks, just as it was 100 years ago?)
Driving home. I wish I had caught the dervishes of swirling snow, which were taller than houses......
You can tell something about the amount of snow in the air from the blurred background, but you can't tell how hard it was blowing......
