The day after Linus came to town.
Barely-passable street, which runs into our street.
This next shot shows the end of our driveway, with our street at the top. Someone came by and plowed this side of our block. Given that it wasn't our whole street that got plowed, we suspect it was a citizen, rather than the city, which did this perfectly adequate level of plowing.
This level of plowing left some extra snow at the end of our driveway, but not a ridiculous amount, and the street was completely passable.
This next shot reminds me of last year...........
Another look at our perfectly-reasonably plowed street.
The neighbor's sidewalk. This give you some idea how high the snow is, right there. Somewhere between 1' and 2'.
The wind blew so much all during the storm that the snow levels were very variable. I have no idea how much snow they are saying we got, but I'm pretty sure it was noticeably over 1'.
The pics above were taken with the camera, from inside the house.
The next three were taken with the phone. The original, for this next one was darker than this. UNhelpfully lightened by blogger.......... I wanted to show you what the phone made of this difficult scene, with such extreme value contrasts, but I've been thwarted.
I lightened this version of the above, myself, so we could see it better, but I'm pretty sure blogger lightened it even further. SO annoying, that the default is that they mess with my pics, rather than ASKING me if I want them to! Sheesh! (and grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.................)
You can see that despite having shoveled twice the previous day, we need to do it again. Some parts were much deeper than others. It was about 2' deep right next to the garage door.....
Here it is, nearly done. We were tired. We had a break, and finished up a few hours later.
!!!
I believe that's a 6' fence, and that's a standard sort of snow shovel.
Back to using a camera from inside the house. You can see the erosion caused by the wind....... This is the neighbors' front yard.
About 4:00. On our way to the airport to retrieve the offspring from her weekend trip. This section of I-94 was not only plowed (including the right shoulder), it was bare and DRY. (Other sections not as well cleared, but all of it had at least two lanes that were clear.)
On our way home. The white on the road is blowing snow, and blogger has really messed this one up -- I wonder what they did to make it so green? Please imagine this with dark-ish gray where the weird green is....
Note that I was *not* driving...................

You got it worse than we did. We had a little over a foot -- significant but I think yours was deeper. So pretty. I hate it.
So pretty. :-)
I don't hate it. I hate that the plows come by eight (8!) times on just one side of the street, but I don't hate the snow.
