The 9th was a bright blue day. (Note the depth of the snow. You can see the depth Mother Nature gave us, lower left, where the sidewalk is shoveled. Then there's the depth the city doled out, piled up between the sidewalk and the street..............)
Blue sky!
There was about .3" of fresh snow on the sidewalks. I saw LOTS of tracks. People tracks, dog tracks, bird tracks.
I saw lots of very little tracks. The size of squirrel feets. I'm pretty much convinced that all of the tiny tracks were NOT squirrels. The gait pattern is right for dogs, and not what I'm used to seeing for squirrels...... But I'm not positive.
Birds, and some small mammal........
More blue sky..............
You can tell something about the varying depth of snow from the snow piles' shadows on the sidewalk....
I really think these are dog feet -- medium-sized, and small. The bigger dog dragged one foot. You can see the drag mark......
People, the dog who dragged one foot, and what looks like a whole herd of tiny dogs.
I'm not aware of a herd of tiny dogs in my neighborhood. I suppose it's possible that these are squirrel tracks, but the gait just doesn't look right................
Later. Looking at the late-afternoon sky from the upstairs bathroom window.
The camera saw much more washed-out versions of the next two shots than I saw. (The camera is very honest -- when I look through the view-finder, it shows me the color it's going to record. I can look at the camera and look at the sky -- or the flower -- and see something different in the camera than I see in the sky.)
I have messed with these shots, trying to get closer to what I remember seeing. (I saw more pink and less yellow than the camera saw.)
