April 28

.

We had some business to transact at the Secretary of State's office.

Morning sky over the strip-mall parking lot.

Later.  Walking.  Before we leave my yard -- these are my species tulips.  Love flowers that come up, year after year, with no fussing!

The neighborhood is getting greener by the day....

Shadow of a hedge.  I like the tangled sharp lines near the left, and the mistier leafy tops, at right.

Another look at the same hedge's shadows.

Looking straight up through a red-flowered maple tree.

More red-flowered maple trees.

Bloodroot.

Daffodils.

Happy species tulips next to the sidewalk.

I have some like this, as well as the solid yellow ones.

Quince.

Sometimes I like having something in sharp focus, while the rest is blurry.  You can see that there are a LOT of buds on this shrub.

I think these are the same chartreuse maple flowers (with a red-flowered maple in the background) that we looked at a few days ago.  On the 28th the new leaves were visible.

A closer look.

Lots of tulips in this yard........

This hospitable old silver maple is hosting a variety of plants of other species.....

Here's a mise-en-scene shot -- you can see the plants in the above image near the top of the next one.

Looking up through a service berry tree at a blue blue blue spring sky.

You have a great yard -- I've never heard of species tulips. They're really pretty -- beautiful shape and I love the yellow!
