There must be an app that chimes every 20-30 minutes, and then suggests a 2-minute bout of exercise..... Vigorous stretches? Up and down a flight of stairs a couple of times? Twists? A yoga pose?

This is one of the major things that FitBit (and other fitness monitors) do for you. They get "cranky" if you sit for too long, and urge you to get up and move.
I've heard that.
I think I'd rather have a pleasant chime and a suggested 2-3 minute activity, than something on my wrist getting "cranky".....
:-) :-) (I just read a statistic, in the last few days, about how many of those devices get pitched into drawers after a few months.....)
I think I would respond better to:
[chime....] It has been 25 minutes since your last activity. I suggest stairs, tree pose, or picking a song at random from your "dance tunes" and dancing for the duration of the song.
