May 3

.

Another of the species tulips that came in that "10 for $1"' bag I bought at the grocery several years ago.

Service berry.

The weekend of the 2nd/3rd was gorgeous.  Low 70s, bright, blue, with just enough clouds.....

Looking down into yellow tulips.

Quince.

Isn't this the best time of year for anyone who loves their camera? Beautiful! (Never heard of service berry, either!)

I need orange said...

This and fall, when all the leaves are yellow and orange and red.....

:-)

Species tulips are, I believe, the little tulips that grew in nature, before they were changed by humans into the big fancy (maybe only bloom once, ever) tulips. They are smaller, and less showy, but they keep going and going and going....

Service berries are also known as amelanchier. They make edible fruit, which are a lot tastier than mulberries, but not as good as cherries or blueberries or peaches. There are a lot of service berries around parking lots downtown, and I try to make sure I eat some when they are ready. Who knows what they may have that I don't get otherwise in my diet........ (Hoping what ever it is is NOT pesticides!)
