May 28

 .

Walking.  Rusty iris.  I really like looking at this, but don't want to grow it.  For the same reasons as the yellow ones we looked at yesterday.

I hope it's ok to be hidebound about inconsequential things like which colors of flowers we want to grow.  Especially if we recognize the hideboundity as it happens.

Birch leaves in the strong late-afternoon sun, with shadows.

Looking at the sun coming through other plants.  Grass.

A crop of the left side of the above.  Photocopy filter.  Really like this.  Layers and layers of line going everywhichway..........

Siberian iris.

Iris -- this one is ruffly around the edges, and the petals going upward are shorter than usual.

Having a better look at the background, especially the upper left..........  Love those bright alliums, the chartreuse, the spots of purple.......

Looking straight down at the iris.

Same image, different crop.......

Peony!  On the 28th I saw herbaceous peonies blooming for the first time this year.  I love peonies.........

Allium.  These white ones were taller than any of the purple ones I've seen.  At least four feet tall..........

Another peony.

My better half decided we would try tomatoes again.  This is better dirt than we have in our front bed, and the bucket is farther south, so maybe they'll get a bit more sun, too.
