December 21 -- goodbye to an old camera

.

In the interminable process of clearing ... stuff ... out of the house, I encountered this venerable camera.

I am surprised to have to say that I really am not sure where it came from.  My educated guess is that I inherited it from a roommate, who bought it (used) because it was/is an iconic camera.  I could be wrong, but I think that's where it came from.

I am 99.9% sure no one I know has ever used it.

We know a lively young photographer who likes to live large -- her dog is a mastiff, and she likes shooting large-format film.  I wondered if she might like to have this camera.

This is not a large-format camera.  I'm pretty sure it shoots 35mm film, which is "regular film" rather than large-format.

But it is definitely a large camera, compared to the ones I'm willing to carry around.  The ruler is hard to read, but the body of this camera is about 6.5" across.

Large.  And heavy...........  Almost 3.25 pounds.  !!!

Not something I am ever going to be using.

I'm so pleased that our young friend was glad to take this "piece of photographic history!" and give it a new home.

Win/win/win.
