January 18

.

Sunrise in Tree Town.

It has to be pretty cold to get frost on the windows.  It was cold on the 18th.  There was some excellent frost.  Click on any of these images to embiggen.

Wow, eh?

It was cold enough, and icy enough, that we didn't want to walk outside.  On the 17th we went to the mall.

On the 18th, we went to Menard's.  Do you have Menard's?  It's different.  It's sort of like a Home Depot or a Lowe's, but then they have some food, and some flannel shirts, and a host of other things.

It's big, and it's fairly empty (probably because it's so new), so it was easy to do four quick loops around the inside perimeter.  I'm sure that was more than a mile.  It's big.

We saw these.  This is pigment for putting into paint to change the color of the paint.  I never thought about how this might be delivered to paint stores, but I'm now thinking this is how.....

When we were finished walking, we checked out the carpet runners.  My better half has been needing something to practice putting on.  Our family room carpeting is the industrial kind, and it's "too fast" for proper putting practice.  He needed something that would give a big more resistance to a rolling ball.  We found some that works pretty well, so not only did we get our walk in, but we acquired a tasteful (not!) new "putting green."  That's a good shopping trip, right there.
