On the 22nd we spent a lot of time looking at photographs, and scanning photographs. My better half turned out a very nice display of big-enough-to-see prints, to have at the funeral home.
This is one of my daughter's great-great-grandmothers.
We also spent a lot of time at the copy shop, while they worked to make good prints from the photos.
Here's another six words of advice: "Printing lots of photos? Bring book(s)."

Good advice. I love that photo of the great grandmother. A friend of mine's mother had been ill for sometime and failing and I remember Diane staying late at night at work where we had a big art room where she could spread out. Weeks before her mom died, she had her picture boards done. I thought that was such a good idea when you know because it's so hard to pull it all together in a short time, especially if you don't have help. Sounds like you had VERY good help. And those memories are so special as you unearth them once again.
My husband spent a bunch of time scanning pics, and then choosing what he wanted, and then in getting them printed...... He did a great job.
You're right -- getting that done ahead of time would have been a very good idea. As it was, we were scrambling to try to get everything done............
