February 25

.

The funeral was the morning of the 25th.  We were glad we we started the day nearby rather than in Ann Arbor.  It was still snowing in the morning.

After the service, there was a nice catered lunch in the church.  We had more time to catch up with different relatives.

After lunch, we all went to Granddad's apartment, so old photographs could be better shared, and grandchildren could measure furniture.

We were the last to leave the apartment.  I rode home with a bouquet on my lap.

The weather had broken.  The sky was excellent.

This next image is what you get when you point a camera at the sun in a bright sky over snowy ground.

I think it is an appropriate image for a funereal day.

All of the snow had been wet and heavy.  It happily stuck to everything.

When we got home, we had to shovel what felt like about four tons of snow out of the driveway and off the sidewalk.

There was a very  nice sunset that night.

Your clouds picture near the end of this post is fabulous. I know what you mean about the right day for a funeral. And then that blue sky and sun. It really did dazzle.
