March 5

.

Walking downtown for breakfast.

Some sort of vehicle had driven along the sidewalk beside Miller.  Its treads seemed to have gathered up snow and packed it into small disks.

A closer crop of the above -- these disks were so tightly packed that some of them looked like plastic.  They were between 1.5 and 2" in diameter.

Some of them landed on their edges and rolled............

Side view of the one above.

Some of them rolled a good long way -- see the curved line at right?

There was no wind on the 5th, so the walk downtown was very pleasant.  I enjoyed the falling snow.

This vendor at the farmers' market paints wood.  Some of her creations are fish.

Some are not.  She told me they were sprayed with something that would let them be happy outside, so she could let them get snowy (as you see here) with no damage resulting.

I had thought I would get a country scone on the 5th, but there were none, so I enjoyed pecan pie instead.

See the pie reflected on the fork?  Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....................

Iron goddess tea, in the reflections of the signs on the wall across the table from me.

Here's something cool -- a foot-powered door pull.  What a good idea for a bathroom door.  See the black thingy sticking out of the bottom of the door?  You pull on that with your foot, and the door opens.

It works really well, despite the self-closer on the door.  You can comfortably open the door with out touching it with your hands.  Excellent.
