.

A trip down memory lane.  Do you recognize this table?  This is a place to contain and feed a big baby or toddler.  It helps contain the mess they make while eating.  See the rounded square in the top surface?  You remove that, and sit the kid in a seat which is suspended below the table top.  (You can see the foot rest for that seat in this image.)

The next image was taken from the same direction.  I've removed the rounded square lid from the table surface, so now we are looking down through the table top at the seat.

We had a table like this when I was a kid.  I know my little brother sat in it, but don't remember if my sister did or not.  I suspect I didn't, but I don't remember.  Dad?  Do you remember when you got this sort of table?

Portulaca.

Up close.  Nice....................

It doesn't look like the table top comes out like it did in ours.

Now I'm wondering if your sister still has that table somewhere...

I've never seen one like that! I suppose it doesn't help if the spaghetti hits the wall but it's a pretty cool idea!

Clayton -- did the top lift out, or slide out through a slot somewhere? I don't know. I don't remember knowing she had it. :-)

It was really stable, Jeanie. Pretty sure a kid sitting in it couldn't knock it over. You're surely right about the spaghetti, though. :-) lol..............

As I recall, the solid top covered the whole thing, and it lifted out, revealing the part with the cutout (as opposed to lifting out just the cutout as this picture shows). The part with the hole slid in, so you could put the kid in the seat, and then slide the top in around them, trapping them. No other seat restraint that I remember. Probably not considered safe these days.

I remember the first time we put Miranda in it at M&Ds when Tennille wasn't along. That's when we really realized just what a messy eater she was. SFSF
