I've been making good progress toward getting caught up, here on the blog, but we have reached another bump in the trail. Another trip.
The spring bridge tournament was in Philadelphia. My better half and
his favorite partner won an entry in a national pairs event.
Unfortunately that partner has been facing a bunch of serious health
issues, and was just not able to travel.
We had already bought plane tickets, and reserved a hotel, and Philly is a good place to visit, so we went anyway.
Stinking Delta ignored the seat assignments it had allowed us
to make, and I ended up in the middle of a row where I couldn't see out
the window. My seat mate paid no attention to the view. I'm sure it's
shallow of me, but I hate it when they take the window seat and then
don't look out the window......
It's easy to get from the airport in Philly to the convention center. There's a train you get on at the airport that delivers you right to Reading Market, which is actually connected to the convention center.
We checked into our hotel. I was thrilled to see the view from our room...................
This is the view "straight out of camera." (Phone camera.)
This is after I messed with it so we could see better. We can see a lot more details more clearly, but this is not really what it looked like, in terms of light and color.........
That's William Penn on the top of city hall. We will see him often in the next several days.
We went out to find some supper. Looking across the street at city hall from ground level.
When we got back to the room, we took a serious look at the bed, and decided there was no way it was big enough. We ended up in a different room, with a big-enough bed, but I had to give up this view. Still a little sad about that........
On the other side of the hotel. Looking at another hotel. At least there's a parking lot in between, so we're not looking right into someone else's windows........

BUmmer about the view -- it sure was pretty! I know what you mean about out of camera and a little light adjustments. Makes a world of difference!
Yeah, I was really thrilled when I saw that view, and sad to give it up. Ah well.
It can be a conundrum for me -- do I want the pic to look like what I actually saw, or do I want to make it possible to see the details on the buildings, etc..... (And, after a month or more, do I actually remember what I saw????? :-) )
