On August 29 I met my buddy K at the Westgate branch of the library, to look at quilts she's made recently.
We each got a beverage from Sweetwaters (which has a branch right in the library). Sweetwaters has a very nice chalk drawing......
The Westgate library is an excellent place to have this sort of meeting. I could reserve a room with a door that closes and a good-sized table. This worked out very well.
After we enjoyed catching up and looking at quilts, K left and I stayed at Westgate to look at shoes. The running shoes I wear everywhere had gotten too tired to take good care of my feet, so I got the newest version of the make and model that have worked for me for the last many years.
The newest pair often doesn't work well for me, at first, but usually after a few weeks they are fine. I am hoping the new ones will be good soon.
Looking north over the parking lot at Westgate. It never did rain on the 29th.
Trumpet vine in the neighborhood.
This is the same yard in my neighborhood that has had pumpkins in the lawn extension for many years. We'll see how big these get. The yellow one is about the size of a volleyball right now, and the orange/green one is maybe twice that size.
