sunrise

.

Sunrise through the circular window in our front door.

A bit later, on the same day as above.  The screen (screen door) is much more visible in this one, but I kind of like the effect....

Whenever I see pictures through your front door, I think of the "Drop of pond water through a microscope" exhibit at the natural history museum in A2.

:-) I loved that exhibit, too. Do you remember that it was all made of glass?

They have built a new building next door to the old one, and have moved the museum content into the new building. I've been in there, but only shortly after they opened just part of it to the public. I think now they've finished with what they mean to show, for the present. I don't know if that drop of pond water is part of it.

I surely hope so! There was a lot of artistry in that museum. Tiny sculptures of prehistoric critters, painted backgrounds, those glass pond animalcules.... :-)

When we were in "wash hands; business as usual" mode I thought it would be a great time to go to the museum (no school groups!), but that only lasted for a couple of days, it seems, before they closed everything. So we'll have to wait to go until it's open again.

I just listened to a podcast (SciShow Tangents) that was talking about museums. They had a whole segment on a father/son team of glass artists who made incredible reproductions of all kinds of things that would normally deteriorate or were too small to see. That exhibit had not occurred to me, but it makes sense.
