There's a display case in the lower level of the Field Museum that is full of bugs of various kinds. I've been disapointed, messing with them in Photoshop Elements, that the lighting was so yellow that I've not been able to come up with anything other than very monochromatic images.
Well, ok, let's work with it..............
I cropped this, and posterized it, choosing the number of values by picking one that showed texture all over the image. Then the first of these has the "poster edges" filter, and the second, the "watercolor" filter.
It's interesting to me -- some people say that if you use a camera a lot when you are on vacation, you don't really *see* what you're looking at. For me it is the exact opposite. I believe I see more *when* I'm actually looking at it, and I am *sure* I see more when I look at my pics, later. So much detail that I miss, at the time, but see, later, looking at my preserved images............
