more mushrooms

The big white mushrooms have returned to my back yard. I surely hope nothing bad comes of my desire to photograph them as they develop. The dogs have shown NO interest in them, even when I am lurking in that part of the yard.

When the mushrooms are new, the stems are very white, and the outside of the cap is a dark shiny brown. The brown lightens, but doesn't grow much; it just fragments as the cap continues to grow.

(nothing interesting happened when I pushed the saturation, alas....)
