I *love* winter. I love the snow. I love cold water from the tap. I love that there are no mosquitos and no yellow jackets and no fleas. I love that the house is quieter, with the storm windows up. I love snuggling under the covers at night. I love winter food -- chili, soup, home-made bread. I love seeing the skeletons of the trees. I love the variety of dead-grass colors beside the road. I love hot tea. (Nothing better than a good novel, a good cup of tea, and a good snowstorm outside the window!)
All that said, the transition from golden fall to bare snowy trees happens disconcertingly quickly!
