Studio Friday's theme this week is I AM (INTER-) CONNECTED!
As one of the 'net/web's dinosaurs, I've been communicating with people online since the '70s. I certainly feel thoroughly electronically connected to distant friends, family, and people whose interests I share but have never met. I am on the board of CorgiAid, a charity that supports rescue of Corgi dogs. CorgiAid is a corporation that couldn't exist without the 'net/web -- it was organized, incorporated, and has always been run online; most of the board members and other staff have never met in person.....
For the "studio" portion of this discourse, I have been talking with people online about art and craft for years and years (I learned A LOT about how to write in the course of arguing online about What is Art?).
The thing that's new to me is being able to put up images of my work so easily, and having other people able to see what I'm doing, and to comment. This is a huge extension of the art-work talking I've done for so many years.
I started thinking about what that looks like, and didn't have any ideas until I was looking at my blog hits.
What clearer way to show one side of my interconnectedness than to show the way the hits on my blog go up when I post to Studio Friday?
I don't have an image that shows the blogs I read, but I have found dozens of blogs with interesting content that inform, intrigue, and inspire my days, and extend my work in new directions. Thank you, Studio Friday, for being such a positive part of all this!

Great post! The connectedness of the web is simply astounding. I love my statcounter too, i must admit. i love looking at the map feature which shows the global positioning of recent hits. I find it breathtaking that people in China, Saudi Arabia and Peru might look at my blog at the same moment! What a world.
Corgis are so adorable. You and I both have connections through animals, internet, and art. Small world--where is Kevin Bacon in this?
I've been online forever it seems. It still amazes me that I can get feedback and a variety of viewpoints from all over the world in such a short period of time.
Yes the web is a great thing! I love it and it's so great to connect to poeple all over ther world with the same interested you don't find in your area so easy.
You are so right, Nancy Bea! To know that people all over our beautiful planet are looking at your work! Amazing!
Thank you all for your comments! :-)
Among my artistic connections, I also listed studio friday and all of my online connections. I have not been online quite as long as you so I am still amazed at how far-reaching and fast it all is. Not to mention supportive.
thanks
