Nothing natural is this bright in Michigan, just now.
These two plants were on the edge of all the rubble I posted a few days ago. Near neighbors, doomed as the wrecking continues, I expect.
All these berries must not be palatable to birds and furry critters. They seem to be untouched.

I knew holly was toxic to people, but didn't know if it was toxic to birds, etc.
I've never seen anything like that purple one. Charlotte is definitely far enough south that they have plants I've never seen....
Maybe the winter is just so much easier down there that the critters can be more picky about what they eat.... Cheek-by-jowl with a destruction site is surely not a desirable lunch location!
