Wow, two completed knitting projects in one month! For me, that's a lot..........
This one is a short-row dishcloth (I suppose it could be a face cloth, if it
softens up when washed......).
I got the pattern from 1870pearl.typepad.com. Look in the "tutorials" at the right.... She says it's an adaptation of EZ's short-row square baby blanket.
You start knitting in the middle of a side, and it's alllllllll short-rows.
I had never done a short-row project before, and I probably didn't do the turns as intended, but I figured for this project it didn't matter........
It took me a while to figure out how to do the grafting. I tried a couple of times and then decided I needed to knit one more plain row. Then I still had to try a couple of times before I was doing the purl side correctly (you have to graft knitwise from one needle and purlwise from the other).
I'm hoping that after it's washed I won't be able to tell where I started/ended....
I've been knitting while watching "Dancing with the Stars."
I am not a fan of "reality" tv, but really enjoyed watching Emmit Smith dance, so I looked in on this season. The only strenuous activity I've ever really enjoyed is dancing -- it's fun to see ordinary people (rather than professional dancers) learning to dance.
Though I suppose it's really not right to call an Olympic multi-medalist an "ordinary person"................
I guess it's no surprise that some of the contestants are really *dancing* and others are woodenly counting "one, two, three, kick" or whatever.
I'm enjoying watching the dancers in the group.
