All my attempts at concentrating on what's good are not making a dent in my mood this week. My not-quite-10-year-old corgi has been diagnosed with leukemia.
As always, things could be worse. It's the dog, not a person, and it's the chronic kind, not the acute.
I am not comforted.

don't be so hard on yourself. dogs are part of the family and it's always tough to find out one of the "kids" is sick. hope things start to look better soon.

On Monday we head for the vet school at Michigan State, which is apparently an excellent cancer center. "People from all over the world come to do veterinary oncology residences at MSU."
We are not going to torture him with extreme measures, but if there is oral chemo we can do at home which will make him more comfortable for longer, we'll do that.
Sigh.
