I think this is a pumpkin flower. Pumpkins have excellent leaves, as well as spectacular flowers.
Hibiscus. Love the little spikes curving around the buds.
Linden leaf skeleton on the sidewalk.
I never get tired of admiring the pattern of sunflower seeds. Those radiating, intersecting curves.......
Newly-painted house, with matching leaves.
Sedum "Autumn Joy."
Zinnias.
Of course everything is not sweetness and light (or even interesting textures and shapes) in Ann Arbor.
A flourishing bed of ragweed. It can be rather an attractive plant, but its pollen is one of the worst wind-borne allergens on the continent........
Hmmm. Strolling along. Wondering about leaves on the trunk of this maple tree -- maples don't have leaves coming out of their trunks.
Let's have a closer look, shall we?
Ah. Say no more. These would not be maple leaves.
This is poison ivy. Birds love the berries, and can eat them with no apparent ill effects. Then they drop the seeds ... everywhere. It's good to keep an eye on your back yard, and pull a poison ivy vine before it really takes hold...........

Hello Orange! I have no excuse for not commenting. I have been on an Alaskan cruise vacation...
My mouth is just hanging open with all you have seen and experienced. And then to top it all, you walk me to work with you! It was the icing on the cake.
I just love what you do. Your photos are wonderful. And I think your sweet Corgi looks quite chipper. I know you have worked and worried.
I am looking, but not being a good contributor to your blog. Please forgive.
Thanks for the kind words, Leslie! I'm glad you're enjoying my words and pics. I wanted to get it all down, fast, before I forgot things......
Nothing to forgive!
YouTube tells me that I should edit my salmon video..... Not sure what's up with that -- I didn't edit any of the whale video. They tell me that there is video-editing software shipped with Windows; I'll have to go look.....
Your flower photos are SO beautiful, I can smell that pumpkin blossom!
Each and every one a little jewel!
Thanks, Stephanie!
I'm enjoying taking the pics, and then cropping, etc, and putting them up....
Looking forward to checking on Maxine tomorrow. :-) I took some more pics of my neighborhood curb-side pumpkin plant. I'll be putting those up this week.
