Aug 31 -- splish splash

Friday was draft horse day at the fair.

This handsome dude was waiting for his turn in the shower.

I liked the light on the water.

Different shower, different horse.

This one is really (really) tall. Those cinder blocks are 8" tall (with some space in between courses), and there are 8 courses of blocks in the "short" walls separating the shower stalls..........

Gotta love those fuzzy tootsies.

Chatting at the spa.

I don't think I've ever noticed a horse standing on a reflective surface before.

I never thought about it until this minute -- no wonder this color pattern shares a name with the dappled shade under a tree.

I'm always blown away by how amenable draft horses are to taking direction from humans. So big, and so strong, allowing themselves to be guided here and there by beings weighing a tiny fraction of their tonnage.

Humbling, I think, that they allow us so much power. I wish we were worthy of their trust.
