The boy is doing well!
I decided to try going without his half doses of metoclopramide. He had half a dose yesterday morning, but not since. So far, no signs of nausea........
This morning I gave him his pred, and put half a cup of kibble in his dish. He sniffed it, looked at me "What's THIS? Where's my milkbone?"
He hasn't eagerly eaten a big milkbone in weeks and weeks.
I gave him a little piece of a big milkbone, and he snarked it and looked for the rest.
I have him the rest, and he snarked that, too.
Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He has been eagerly chasing what's left of his stuffed hedgie, too. Over ten minutes, on Thursday afternoon.................
Yay.
We still don't have the results of the urine tests that got sent out from MSU on Monday, so I don't know what will happen with his bump removal (if it will be next week or the week after, given that next week is a short week!).
The one on his nose turned into a scab and fell off. It didn't start as a wound, I am pretty sure. I noticed that the hair didn't seem to be growing quite right several days before I could feel anything. Then there was a bump about the size of the head of a pin (a glass-headed pin, not a flat metal-headed pin). It felt sort of crusty, but I never got out a magnifying glass to have a good look......
Then it turned into a scab and came off, taking the hair with it. Luckily I saw it
on its last thread and took it and put it into a pill bottle. I don't know if it will be informative to the vet, but just in case.........
It's always something, keeping life around here exciting.
The other really thrilling news is that we have gotten the ball rolling on switching our car and home insurance away from the company we have used for decades. We have felt that they were incompetent for some time (tell them you have a teenager, and they fix one thing, but ignore others until you point it out to them.... this sort of thing happened multiple times.......).
We actually went and talked to someone new and got things rolling to make the switch.
Inertia overcome! We'll be glad every time we pay the bill that we are not sending any more money to the incompetents. !!!
