walking to work on Nov. 15

A couple of leaves on the spiffy new sidewalk out to our garage.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that leaf veins are such a different color from the rest of the leaf, but I sort of am.

Fallen leaf, with ex-snail.

This black spot on maple leaves shows up when the weather is damp. It looks dire, but I have read it doesn't cause significant harm to the trees.

Walking to the front of the house, here are my flower-box denizens. Pitiful in comparison to begonias and sweet alyssum in Alaska, I enjoy them anyway.....

Looking south on my street. The city of Ann Arbor picks up leaves that have been raked into the street. They do each neighborhood twice each fall. Our late fall means that a good third of the leaves are still on the trees, and last week's pick-up was the second of the two............

Looking back toward the house. If you look through the reflections on the windows, you can see the dogs. They are less unhappy than usual, because Dad was still home when I left.

At first I was disappointed in this pic, as the reflections are SO prominent. It's growing on me...........
