Happy New Year

More pics from Tuesday morning. Isn't it astonshing to see the everyday environment so totally transformed?

We moved the minivan into the driveway the night before, so that she wouldn't get plowed in........

Is this gorgeous, or what?

It was rather a lot of snow to move. Our kind and generous neighbor blew off the sidewalk for us again, but the driveway.... Luckily we had a handy dandy teenage athlete to share the work.

Across the street from our house, looking south.

Looking north.

The sun, doing its best to make an appearance.

The snow is *so* beautiful. My attention is caught every time I look outside. It usually doesn't stay on the trees as long as it has this time. It's been pretty still since it snowed.....

I love that my ordinary day-to-day world can be transformed, overnight, into this snowy otherworld....

Enjoy that snow and make me a snowman for me:)

It has been too cold for the snow to pack. The snow has to be just the right temperature. If it is too cold, it doesn't stick to itself and won't make snowballs of any size.

Now they're saying that it will be as high as 50F this weekend and it will all melt!

I wish we could just keep a nice even 20-25F and forget both the 0F (which we've had the last couple of nights) and the 50F!
