snow, Jan. 2

I was flossing my teeth, the evening of the 30th of December, and my crown came off. I'd been thinking things felt a bit weird -- like there was food stuck in my teeth or something -- it just felt like things weren't in the right place.

So it wasn't really a big surprise when the crown was totally loose in my mouth.

I put it in a kleenex in a pill bottle. (We have lots of pill bottles. LOTS. I've been thinking of taking a pic of them. Or something. Now let's choose one: "Hmm. Chemo bottle? Not. Gut regulation bottle? Not. Amoxycillin? Yeah, let's use that one.")

I didn't really want to call my dentist at home at 10:00 pm on a Sunday. But I've never had this happen before and didn't know if what is left of my tooth might instantly start rotting, or what.......

I did call him at home on Monday (office closed until Wednesday!). He said that if it wasn't driving me crazy it was ok to leave it until Wed.

I meant to get a pic of the crown sitting in my hand, and had vague ideas of writing something pithy about looking on the bright side (I didn't swallow it!), etc, but I didn't take a pic until I got to the office and the light was dim in the waiting room and all of the pics were blurry.

So you are spared the philosophizing, and get, instead, the walk from the dentist to my office. (Crown reglued, no big deal.)

Note that the arched part of this window appears to be stained glass. Excellent detail, no?

Even the student ghetto looks picturesque in the snow.....

But not that picturesque. Let's put our glove back on, put our camera back in the belly bag, and get on to work!

Here is what it looked like out my office window.

Wow, eh?

Every time I looked out a window I was captivated and had to get the camera back out. The light kept changing........

BEAUTIFUL snow pics!! Now I'm wishing I could visit next winter! Instead I'll be in that area next fall, for the stunning colors :)

Thanks! It was surely gorgeous!

At least the color is more predictable! Mid October is usually the peak, here in (and around) Ann Arbor. You never know when (or if) it will snow, or how long the snow will last.....
