back to bigger pieces

A couple of the exhibits did not allow photography. One of my favorite pieces was in one of these exhibits. I hoped to find a picture of it on her website, but no. See other examples of her work here. (it takes a while to load, because it is loading larger versions of the works -- not just the teeny thumbnails -- so when you mouse over the thumbnails, you'll see the larger images)


Back to the ones I could photograph.........

Some quilting challenges invite you to do what you can with a given fabric. In this piece the required fabric is on the backs of the playing cards. I love this -- its title is "Pond Poker"........ Nancy B. Dickey.





This one is an homage to Dutch still-life painting. (oops, neglected to take pic of information card)







I'm not sure why I only got a detail of this one....... I love the bird and the colors. Like a chickadee gone psychedelic...... Kathy York. (see the full quilt here)
