I know that nesting swans can be quite dangerous. We didn't let him get any nearer than you see above. Had the swans come closer, we would have beaten a hasty retreat.

This is what the edge of the water looked like. I wish I could have gotten some pics that didn't have all sorts of brushy stuff between the camera and the swans, but this is what I had to work with.

I saw my very first white swan late last year while on Holidays in Sydney. Just beautiful..... other wise I only see black swans.
Around here it's the opposite. Almost all white, with only a very rare black one.
