Between my cold and the frequent thunderstorms we've had, I haven't turned this computer on in about 40 hours.
We have been lucky -- the worst of the storms were north of us. We didn't lose power at all, and haven't had any trouble with excess water. (I learned my "never live at the bottom of the hill!" lesson with my first house. This house is near the top of the hill....)
Yesterday I read The Time Traveler's Wife. It is well written, and the premise is nicely developed. It ends badly, though, and I don't have any tolerance for that, even when it is clear the bad ending is inevitable.
I wouldn't read another by the same author.

I might hab a code doo! Not that I am talking like that, just a little raspy. I don't feel bad though, so that is good.
It's such a pity there are so many books (and movies...etc.) with bad endings. Or that are poorly written. If I were a publisher (another job I don't think I want) I would only publish good books with happy endings. encore helas!
Hope you continue to feel ok!
I haven't felt *too* bad, just kinda droopy and achy. This was weird -- started out with coughing. Proceeded to coughing and sneezing and runny nose........ I think I'm on the mend now.
I have very exacting taste in fiction. Well-written, with interesting characters, not too much suspense, and a happy ending.
Given how much published fiction I see that doesn't fit those criteria, I belive there must not be much written that I will enjoy. Alas.
