walking home, May 27

I know I've seen this in flower catalogs, but I don't remember what it is. Almost alien looking, don't you think? So few petals, so skinny and sparce, but so emphatically purple and pointy..... With such a spiky center.....

The closeup was blurry, so I had to 'shop it.......

You will recall me telling you, five or six weeks ago, that the maples with the red flowers had sickly-looking leaves. Here is what I mean..... Perhaps this is what "healthy" looks like, for these trees, but they don't look happy to me.

Sidewalk crack, with tiny yellow leaf.

I don't care at all about cars, but I like color.... Red, with tulips.

Cityscape. I surely wish more people were willing to get themselves around without relying on cars. The world would be a better place.

Urban ivy.

Some people get their shorts in a knot over posters stapled to telephone poles. I object to anything stapled to a live tree, but to a telephone pole?

I think the texture is cool........

Azalea. Or rhododendron, you've got me.........

Roses. Don't you love the way the color gets more and more intense as you approach the center? And what about the crisp and crinkly edges of the petals, in contrast to the fat softness of the whole flower.......... Mmmmm.

Scabiosa.

Columbine.

I don't like being in spaces as fishbowlesque as the south end of this building, but they are kinda cool to look at.

Flower in the first shot is a bachelor's button (aka: cornflower)and considered a noxious weed in our area... But I love em...

I'd buy the second shot of it!

Hurry up with a calender already! =)

Thanks for the data!

And thanks even more for the compliment!

You like those shopped pics of weeds, eh? :-) I remember you liked the dandelion, too.....

I wonder, from time to time, how "an ordinary person" goes about selling note cards, or calendars, or whatever......
