walking, June 8

.
I've mentioned that my neighborhood is stodgy. This is not true of all Ann Arbor.

This neighborhood is near my favorite thrift store. One year this yard was full of basketballs. They were crammed in the branches of the little trees, they were on the ground, they were everywhere. One year there was a pretty good-sized (fake) crocodile lurking under corn stalks growing in the front yard.

I'm wondering what will appear under the sink as the season progresses.....

These are in the shrubbery of the house next door to the sink & gnome. Note crocodilian bottom center.... This one is much smaller than the one that was in the corn.....

It's an older neighborhood, and there are lots of flowers.

Peonies. Lots of peonies.

I am pretty sure this is a gooseberry. Love its translucent globularity.....

I never saw the ant when I was taking the pics.....

What's not to like about chartreuse and fuchsia? Euphorbia.

I believe we had these in the back yard when I was a kid. Evening primrose, right, Mom?

Love the yard kitsch!
And I will fight that ant for the gooseberry.
They are delicious when ripe!

I am sure I have eaten gooseberries at least once, but am not remembering where/when..... Maybe I can get some at the farmers' market.....
