We took the train from Fairbanks to Denali, and then from Denali to Anchorage.
I like the reflections on the side of the train.

No, not leaning out too far..... It looks like it from the pic, doesn't it. :-)
There was a place for us to stand, outside, at the end of the car, on the lower level, with high-ish railings. So you could lean against the railing.
At your own peril -- there were signs saying not to lean out. I'm sure people have been whipped by trees..... I would sort of peek out, and then if it looked clear, lean out farther.
It was great to have an outside place to take pics. The train cars (owned by the cruise lines) have windows that curve up and become part of the roof, so you can see through most of the upper part of the car, but the glare..... It was great to be able to take pics with no glass or plexi in between you and the view.
