July 22, walking home

.

Another daylily.

Our golden rain tree isn't wasting any time setting seed.

I didn't see any of those green-with-black&white bees on the 22nd, but I did spot this beauty visiting the coneflowers.

The brand-new parking lot which has replaced the old Y. The red bricks with blue trim on the right are the library, and the long gray thing to its left is part of the transit center where (almost) all bus routes end. When I take the bus downtown, it drops me right across the street from the library. Where better?

From the newest parking lot to one of the oldest. This one is behind the buildings that used to house Sears, amongst other businesses, back when big stores like Sears were in town, rather than out in the malls.

The white building in the middle, background, is one of the newest (the newest?) condo buildings in town.

Another shot of the same urban ivy and staples we've looked at before.

Red doors.

See the fairy door?

Urban rose.

I love the green of this vine, against the purple and sharp white, but I am afraid its untamed growth is an indication that all is not well with the small business that is (used to be?) in this building. See the green trim on the door that matches the vine?

From time to time, since I began this blogging odyssey, I have wondered if I would run out of things to look at.

I have realized that it's a sort of hubris (and/or malaise?) to imagine that I can have seen ... everything.

I am convinced that my new position is correct when I spot something like this.

I have walked by these buildings thousands of times, but never noticed this until the 22nd.

There is always something interesting to see. Up. Down. Close up. Far away......

If I did, I was too thick to notice!

It had been a while since I looked at the Fairy Door site, and I had forgotten there was one on this shop....

I took pics in front of this shop several times before, but this is the first time I saw and focused on the door.

I really enjoy the Fairy Doors.
Thanks so much for clickin' a pic of one.
I have their website linked on my sidebar, and did a post about them a while back.
I am entranced by the concept and the workmanship.
Now, this is art! :)

Indeed!

You are most welcome. It is fun to spot them. They are almost always below or above my normal line-of-sight, so I can walk right by and not see them, many times, before they catch my eye.

Even when they are red on turquoise, apparently!

Now that I am reminded where they are, I will try to remember to look for them and snap some more for you.
