Asiatic lily.

Daylily.

Here's that nice golden rain tree again.

Loving the coneflowers. Interested to discover the same sort of green-with-black&white bee again. I've only ever seen these bees on coneflowers, and they are the only insect I've seen on coneflowers.
Interesting.
I don't remember ever seeing these bees before this year. The green is the same as that of the emerald ash borers who have killed all of our ash trees. I am wondering if this bee is another evil interloper..................
Update, July 9 -- according to www.whatsthatbug.com this is "a Green Metallic Bee or Halictid Bee in the genus Agapostemon." Now you know.

This is a different flower (half-way down the block), and I guess I don't know if it's a different bee. The first time we looked at a coneflower with one of these bees, it was very near my house, and these are very near my office.....

We will now take a few minutes to study the persimmon proto-fruits.
Of course we enjoy the chartreuse of the newly-fallen, but look at the nice red-brown of the older ones. Nice.

Excellent shapes, too.

Did you notice the ants in the previous? Here's a close-up. I wonder why this particular fruit is more inviting than the rest.... (These are the only ants I notice in any of these pics.)

I'm thinking that persimmons would count as "messy trees"...........
