We had some very heavy rain the evening of the 2nd. I have never seen it rain harder. It didn't last very long, but it bucketed right down for a while. Last night the Weather Channel said we've gotten 1.73 inches of rain this month. So far! I'm guessing most of it was on the 2nd....
There were also some strong winds. Again, not for long.
It was still wet on the morning of the 3rd, and there was lots of small debris everywhere.
This is part of a choke-cherry. The long red spikey things are where the flowers used to be..... Excellent lines.....

I took some pics of the detritus in the driveway, but didn't find them interesting.

Barberry. I'm not fond of thorny stuff, but gotta love the color.....

Daylilies, with cute little house and purple tree.

Asiatic lily. This one looks to me like it has had a Photoshop Elements filter applied, but it's "just" wet.......... Love the shapes and colors.

Purple spikey stuff.

Daylilies.
These flowers are 4th of July to me. They bloom at this time of year, and there were lots of them near the homes of my Indiana relatives. When I was a kid, we always went to Indiana to visit relatives over the 4th.....
These are common daylilies. Aren't they excellent? The ruffled edges, the veining, the color............ Mmmmmmm.

Oops.
We had little chokecherry bits in our driveway.
Other people had worse luck.
I don't know if it's visible in this pic, but this tree involved the electric wires to at least one of these houses...........

Yikes. At least it missed the house.....
Smaller debris, farther up the block.

Wet yucca flower.

Nice yellow-flowered succulent.

Red maple twigs. Isn't it interesting -- the twigs I showed you before, in my back yard, were always brown............ (I haven't forgotten about maple updates, but there really hasn't been any discernable change in the last several weeks!)

Red, white, blue. Watercolor filter.

This is really a wonderful garden. It was purple and white, when we admired its white iris. Then there was a lot of pink (we enjoyed its peonies). Now it is purple and yellow.

This is low to the ground, just to the right of the buddleia in the previous. Love the shapes and the intense color.
