August 13

.

A descendant of my mother's mother's spider plant. It lives on my office window sill.

The 13th was another gorgeous day.

I leaned out the window to take the previous, and then leaned out farther and looked right to see the parking lot outside our building.

You can see the fence in front of the cars closest to us, in the previous. There is a little wasteland between our building and the neighboring properties. Steep and gravely.

Who knew that someone had dismantled a road barrier, and dumped the pieces into this area.......

It's too nice to stay in. Let's walk around the block.

Zinnia. Mmmm, orange.

I think this is dusty miller.

The young leaves are "hairy," which is what makes them gray.

Some coneflowers are still trucking along.

Milkweed pod, with my hand for size.

Rose.

I'm liking the results of that strong sideways light -- the light through the petals, and the shadows of the stamens.....

Hosta leaf.

Nice house in the neighborhood of my office building.

My office window is the one that is open.

The hosta pic is lush!

I need orange said...

Thanks!

For some reason, hosta leaves have been something the camera hasn't been all that fond of focusing on, so now when I see them, I give it a shot.

This one is sharper than many! :-)

I love the curvy lines......
