Trying an alternate route. Most of Washington is really a pleasant walk, but the blocks at the bottom of the hill were much more so before the YMCA moved there.
Huron parallels Washington but is four lanes and has 100 times the traffic. Liberty veers off to the south, and Miller veers off to the north, and both have considerably more traffic than Washington, though less than Huron.
Sigh.
Ok, today we'll walk west on Liberty until we are past the ickiest bits of Washington.
Here's the railroad which runs over the railroad bridges over Washington and Huron and Miller.
Oh, look. I've seen trumpet vines blooming, but never near the sidewalk. This one is beside a car wash, so I walked right in and ... got a lot of blurry pics. I'll have to try again. I like the leaves of this plant, and gotta love the buds and flowers.....
We will now enjoy a zinnia interlude. The zinnias behaved for me, as they do not always do, and I got a lot of nice sharp pics.
The coneflowers are definitely past their prime, but still excellent at this stage.
Goodness -- sharp zinnias *and* this pesky hibiscus is sharp? That about makes up for the blurry trumpet vine....
Abandoned cicada exoskeleton. You can see it is split up the back and the critter has pulled out to go elsewhere.
Here is that same pokeweed we looked at before. Some of the berries are purple now.
The whole rest of this tree looked normal. Wonder why this bit is unhappy.
Isn't this a nice garden? If I actually had a garden, it would look a lot like this.
