September 6, farmers' market

.

A small fraction of the Ann Arbor farmers' market.

Itty bitty melons.

Color just as the camera remembers it.

There are artisans at the market, in addition to all the freshly grown goodies.

Who knew there were so many kinds of eggplant?

A closer look at the cabbage glimpsed in the above -- I'd never seen this Christmas-tree shaped cabbage before.

More eggplant.

This was right near the place we parked. What do we think this is? The plant has an iris-y look. Sort of.

A habit shot of the above plant.

Once again what we bought is not reflected in the above. I did buy eggplant, but none of the above.

Here's something we bought. This is the best corn we've had this year so far.

Raspberry pancakes with fresh raspberries from the market.

Wow -- it looks really similar to that, doesn't it! I bet you are right.

I'll have to try to remember to check back by there next summer and see if I can catch it in bloom....

The pancakes were yummy..... :-)

It was yummy. As well as gorgeous.

I'm a little sorry I didn't try to get more, today, but my chauffeur isn't really all that fond of sitting around waiting for me, and we usually pick out the corn ear by ear. Unlike the tomatoes and peaches, where I just grab boxes.....
