Buzzupdate

.

Two people have asked me in the last couple of days how Buzz is doing, which has prompted me to give you an update.

He continues to feel good, bright and lively. He continues to lose track of his hind feet (sigh and alas).

I have decided to discontinue his IV chemo. At present I am still giving him his oral chemo. I have 10 pills or so left; I'll make a decision about refilling when they run out (he gets one every other day). It will depend on how he is doing.....

The last time I cut toes, I noted that a couple of his nails were worn down to a nub, even though it had been at least a couple of weeks since he had a sidewalk walk.

I've been afraid to take him even on a short walk around the block, if just running in the house is keeping his nails so short............

So today we drove to West Park, which I walk by on my usual route to work. Seemed silly to drive there, but ... what are you going to do.

Da boyz thought a ride in the car was good, and a walk in the park -- even better!!

(note odd placement of Buzz's rear foot -- that is the sort of thing I'm talking about when I say he and his rear feet are not communicating as they used to do....)

Our thermometer said about 58 when we left the house (some time after 4:00). Plenty warm enough for a walk. We strolled from the east end of the park along the southern side.

Then we looped back east, then a bit north, more west, and back to the parking lot, closer to the northern side of the park. We strolled quite a ways, up and down, and all of it was on grass except walking across a walkway a couple of times. I haven't looked at the Big Boy's nails since we got home, but we'll hope that they are not worn down too far. !!!

As you can see, things in Ann Arbor are pretty much all green, still, but what's red is RED.

I had thought I would take them to the park yesterday, but the Window Excitement (NOT) took so long that we didn't manage to go. I thought it was supposed to rain today, and I guess it is supposed to, later, but luckily the afternoon was just fine for strolling.
