walking to work, October 1

.

Looking south on my street.

Red plant on front stoop, sculpture in yard.

Datura, damp.

Pokeweed, after berries fall off. I can see why people let this cool-looking plant live in their yards......... The color...........

I am working up to a post on Living in a Big Ten Football Town.........

West Park from the west end.

Here is the same view, only raising the camera so it does its light-metering on the sky rather than the ground. The sky was kinda dramatic that day, and I was sure that we wouldn't be able to tell that from the shot where I metered on the ground/trees.........

Same as above, only "shadows lightened" and color saturation raised in post-processing.

Rose hips again. Wow color, eh? The color is just as the camera (and I) remember it.

Sedum. More wow color (only cropped this one; no other messing-with).

Here is the south entrance to West Park, looking toward the park. We are higher than the park right now. That lighter green you see behind everything, in the middle of the pic, is the park.

Gerbera, yes?

And again. Can't get any orange-er than this!

The gerbera garden also has zinnias.

I'll leave you with this one. Because ... wow.

This is SooC (straight out of camera). Not even cropped.

Loving the hint of magenta around the edges of the petals.
