1) Dialing down is Good. But when daytime temps don't reach the 60s, and nighttime temps hover around 30, and the temp in the house thinks seriously about sinking to 60, it's time to put the furnace on. Even if it was sunny all day.
2) After you have sucked the pics off the camera chip into the computer, put the chip back into the camera before you head out to take more pics.
